Our 2nd visit here, and definitely will be staying again. Great value, central location, great staff, brilliant customer service, the rooms are spotless, and breakfast is very good. The hotel and staff including the new trainee front of house were very good, but sorry I know they don't have lots of facilities. The breakfast was shockingly bad. Stick to toast and you hurt.
This hotel seems to have alot of bad reviews aswell as good, but I found the stay to be quite average. The rooms were comfortable, the location was pretty good, especially with the food places next door. The staff were friendly however didn't seem super confident in their work at times. We had to go back to redo our card as it wasnt working twice but these things happen. Overall not a bad stay good sleep WIFI could also be abit better but good place to go for a couple nights stay.
My sister and I recently stayed in the Best Western Hotel at Pontypool near Cwmbran, in Wales while visiting family. It is a well run hotel with very friendly staff. It is extremely clean with comfortable beds, thick, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and plenty of choice for a good breakfast. Best of all they were able to cater for me being vegan with oat milk, plant based sausages and margarine which not all places I have stayed at could manage. There are lovely walks down to and along the nearby canal. We did a lot of walking which we love to do. Ubers were a bit of a challenge, but the local taxis, trains and buses were great. When staying there if you need to use the train services, go to Cwmbran train station, not Pontypool New Inn as trains there run much less often and it can be difficult to get an uber to pick you up there as well as a bit tricky to walk to the hotel from there. It can be done but is not straight forward.
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Stayed for one night. Room was clean and tidy with tea and coffee making stuff. Bathroom was clean but a bit worn.Bed was comfortable had to hunt in the wardrobe for additional pillow. Breakfast was included in the price. Which was a good selection, set us up for the day. Definitely felt it was good value for the money
Cheap and cheerful. Breakfast option expensive for what's on offer, but with a Gregg's next door you can't go wrong.
